After graduating from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology in 2007, Heather worked in various corporate settings for several years before realizing that a better professional fit for her would be one that would allow her to combine her love of fitness, health, nutrition, and a desire to help people. It was not long before Heather found a passion for physical therapy.
Heather went back to school and attended the University of North Georgia where she earned her doctorate in Physical Therapy. During her time at the university, she participated in a research project regarding the effects of Diastasis Recti on daily functional activities in postpartum women. While working on this project, Heather developed a deep interest in women’s health and pelvic PT. She began taking advanced courses in pelvic floor physical therapy and postpartum care while still attending her doctoral PT program. Heather enjoys working with a variety of pelvic health conditions affecting both women and men. She empowers her patients by sharing her knowledge and providing compassionate care.
Heather is a Georgia native. Her mother, also a doctor, fostered a passion for life-long learning in Heather. Heather is continually seeking to expand her knowledge in all aspects of pelvic health. Outside of work, Heather’s pastimes include yoga, running, and cooking, but her favorite way to spend her days is with her husband, newborn daughter, and Golden Retriever.
